Structural Dynamics Engineer

Structural Dynamics Engineer
Philadelphia, PA
12 month contract

Job Responsibilities:

•Develop aircraft finite element models, including integration and coordination of models received from other engineering groups.

•Perform frequency response, modal and aeroelastic analyses. Determine flutter margins.

•Experimental tests data collection and reduction.
•Develop, implement and maintain custom tools for conducting dynamic response analysis using custom Matlab tools and NASTRAN DMAP.
•Analyze aircraft structural dynamic response and load distributions for gust and landing conditions.
•Prepare formal documents to report the analytical results.
•Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•Degree(s) in Aerospace Engineering (preferred) with a focus on dynamics and aeroelasticity and on finite element modeling techniques, flutter analysis, frequency domain data analysis and vibration.
•Experience in a relevant engineering position: ◦9 or more years’ experience (with Bachelor’s)
◦7 or more years’ experience (with Master’s)
◦4 or more years’ experience (with PhD)

•Highly skilled in finite element modeling and strong experience in MSC Nastran and Patran, with a focus on dynamic response analysis and gust loads.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment.
•Knowledge of FAR/EASA Part 25 requirements is highly desirable.
•Experience in scientific programming languages.
•Experience in aeroservoelasticity and ground testing is preferred.
•Travel may be occasionally required.
