Electrical Design Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:
The Electrical Design Engineer Reports to the Engineering Manager, The Electrical Design Engineer performs complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/processes/techniques. Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment. The position requires an ability to interpret, on a broad basis, the principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination requirements
• Reviews project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy
• Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion
• Defining the installation requirements of electrical systems and components
• Creating wiring diagrams for interior monument cabin furnished equipment
• Creating and designing interior cabin furnished monument Electrical drawings and 3D models
• Performing electrical load analysis for interior monuments
• Ensuring compliance of design to latest customer and airworthiness requirements
• Checking of engineering data produced by peers
• Participating in design reviews of electrical installations for interior monuments
• The selection and application of materials and processes appropriate to each design element
• Ensuring the successful integration of each design element with the product as a whole
• Supporting Mechanical Design Engineers within the group with guidance on electrical issues
• Supporting problem solving during manufacturing build process and through aftermarket queries
• Customer support
• Assisting in definition and supplier selection for components and equipment
• Ensuring technical, commercial and weight targets are maintained
• Communicating effectively and professionally with peers, suppliers and customers
• Development and introduction of product improvements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university. Minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Competent user of the incumbent CAD and data management systems – Team center and NX
Aircraft interiors experience.
