Tool & Fixture Specialist

Location: New Orleans, LA
Schedule: Monday to Friday

• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12 Months)
  Pay Rate: $31 to $36 per hour

Role Overview

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a skilled Tool & Fixture Specialist. In this hands-on role, you will ensure tooling readiness, reliability, and performance that directly support safe, efficient, and high-quality aerospace manufacturing operations. Your expertise will help keep production moving and standards uncompromised.

What You’ll Do

• Perform routine tool setup activities and minor tool repairs

• Manufacture, assemble, and fabricate tools and fixtures

• Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment

• Operate factory support equipment, including forklifts, to stage and move tools and materials

• Provide tooling support to multiple production and support teams

• Read and interpret blueprint drawings to ensure tooling readiness processes are followed

• Assist in determining fabrication and assembly processes

• Support reverse engineering of parts and tooling processes as needed

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Electrical background

• Welding experience

• Experience operating forklifts

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs (tools and equipment)

• 1 or more years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or Associate-level technical training

• Prior experience supporting tooling operations in a manufacturing or aerospace environment

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Additional Position Details

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
