The Industrial Engineering team within the Client is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineering Project Manager to join our growing team located in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Shift: This position is to support 1st shift (start times dependent on organization), with some collaboration possible between 2nd and 3rd shift.

Position Overview: Our Industrial Engineering Project Management contractor will focus on assisting the Industrial Engineering team on developing and managing project plans that support current business priorities and initiatives. This includes developing project plans, tracking performance to plan, hosting structured meetings, follow through on actions to others, and developing leadership report out materials. The organization will be deploying “Smartsheet” software as a project management tool, so knowledge and application of this software is ideal to help onboard the Industrial Engineering community. The candidate should also have knowledge and experience supporting Industrial Engineering concepts including production stability, implementing lean methodologies, assessing and performing to rate readiness requirements, reviewing the facilities footprint for improvements, as well as utilizing root cause analysis and process improvements to improve flow of products and people throughout the site. The candidate will be engaging primarily with Industrial Engineers and Site Leadership, while also coordinating with manufacturing, engineering, and other production-supporting organizations and should be a self-starter and a collaborative team player. Our business unit allows you to learn all aspects of the Aerospace Manufacturing world including supply chain logistics and transportation, and fabrication of raw materials into products and assemblies to be delivered to our assembly and installation programs around the world.

Onsite: This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Describe the project/day-to-day activities they will be working on: We are looking for candidates willing to lead initiatives around production stabilization and sharing Industrial Engineering methodologies applied throughout the industry. Ideal candidates would have experience with capacity planning to support production rate increases, resource utilization and crew cycling optimization, process improvement identification through Value Stream mapping, developing time standards, collaborating with multiple support organizations, developing complex recovery plans, and developing visual tools to identify performance metrics and areas of opportunity.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering field.
• 3 or more years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and/or production environment.
• Experience in Project Management software applications (preferably Smartsheet, but could include Microsoft Project, GanttPro, etc)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Engineering Management.
• Skilled in effective time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• 3 or more years of experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes.
• 3 or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles.
• Skilled in effective time management, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in structured problem solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
