Propulsion Systems Contract Stress Analyst

Job Description: Contract Propulsion System Stress Analyst

-Perform propulsion systems development, sizing, and substantiation analysis in support of a new space vehicle development program.

-Create and analyze finite element models using Abaqus FEM software

-Work collaboratively within an agile team to support program requirements and development goals.

Experience

-Total Stress experience: 10+ years
-Abaqus (FEM software): 5+ years%u2019 experience
-Proficient in performing stress analysis on valves, welds, and piping systems
-Proficient in the analysis of pressure vessels
-Propulsion systems analysis specifically experience preferred.
-Experience with analysis of carbon overwrap pressure vessels preferred.
-Fundamental and theoretical understanding and application of classical engineering and aerospace structural development, sizing, and substantiation analysis methods
-Must have familiarity with propulsion systems component design requirements and standards
-Ability to initiate, specify, and perform structural analysis without the aid of legacy tools and methods.
-Fundamental understanding of composite materials and allowables, and composite structures design, modeling, and analysis proficiency.

Education

This position requires an engineering Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university.
