Integration Engineer

Description:
As an Integration Engineer your role will be to work on a team to test a full scale electric aircraft. This includes integration and testing of subsystems to take each aircraft from design to reality to flight. At each phase safety, aerospace standards, and quality must always be in mind.

You have an understanding of aircraft systems and the hardware that merges them into a cohesive system. You have assembled complex systems and have an extraordinary ability to maintain an organized workspace while doing so. You understand the importance of quality control in an flight test environment. You can think on your feet and, above all, work creatively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

As our projects are “out-of-the-box” by design, you will be expected to seek, investigate, and implement creative solutions to challenges and impediments, and skillfully pivot when needed, with minimum loss of momentum. We expect you to do this with equal parts technical intuition and rigorous by-the-book protocol.

To get specific, your responsibilities will be to:
Lead the effort to create a top tier integration and test facility including procurement of all necessary hardware, tools, and equipment
Lead and empower your team to test and integrate a novel electric aircraft
Develop testing methods and procedures
Execute tests and document test results
Own the vehicle integration
Assist the engineering team and flight test team as required
Maintain records of components, installation procedures, and changes in accordance with standard quality procedures
Effectively communicate engineering intents with your team and integration issues with engineering
Assist with tracking milestone accomplishments including integration status
Make a lasting contribution to the social environment at the company by participating in social events and proposing new ones, sharing your passions and hobbies, and spreading joy wherever you go

We expect that you will have:
Experience with CAD
Familiarity with measurement systems, equipment, and sensors
A strong technical understanding of aircraft integration, testing, and quality control
A high degree of understanding of proper practice and safety in working with high voltage electronic systems
At least five years of progressively ambitious experience
Excellent communication skills (strong coordination and relational skills to deal with customers, authorities, internal and external partners)
Experience with leading diverse teams
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
