Lead Systems Engineer

Location: Riverside, CA
Pay Rate: $75/hr
Duration: 1 year contract
Shift: First
**MUST be a U.S. CITIZEN; NO DUAL CITIZENSHIP**
**NO RELOCATION COMPENSATION/NO PER DIEM SPLIT**

Description:
-The Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for development of and will contribute to the commercialization of a new class of technology for manufacturing high-power laser systems. The candidate is expected to: contribute to overall system specifications; design and construct precision robotic systems and subsystems for handling and processing optical fiber; and work with suppliers and manufacturers to design for manufacturability and take technology to production. The exact title and level assigned to the position will depend on the candidate's experience and capability.
-Must demonstrate expertise with instrumentation to determine basic laser performance, laser lifetime and reliability, highly accelerated life test, shock and vibration resilience, and failure mode analysis.

Additional Job Details:
-Masters degree or higher required
-Knowledge of experimental and simulation methods in a commercial laser development setting.
-Extensive knowhow in optical system modeling and physical construction, opto-mechanical design principles, laser metrology and laboratory test methods, optical materials properties, and DFx methodology preferred.
-Track record of designing and building robotic systems with extensive experience in precision motion and machine vision.
-CNC, Siemens 840D SL, Fanuc 16i / 30i, Kuka 4RC etc. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Fanuc controllers. G and M codes, NC programming. Safety circuits and PLC’s.
-Well versed in computer programming languages: Python, C++, Excel VBA, etc.
-Performs analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
