Materials, Process, and Physics Engineer

Description:
This position is for a Materials, Processes and Physics Engineer Level 3 supporting the SLS program in New Orleans, Louisiana performing engineering and technical activities. The engineer will develop and execute plans to ensure business, technical, and customer requirements are achieved. The team will be responsible for activities including development and implementation of SLS specific processes, NASA-6016 requirements, review supporting engineering documents, support supplier surveys and technical interchange meetings, provide liaison engineering support, and support material selection for subsystem / end item design concepts, coordination of MUIL/MUA. MRB Experience a Plus.

Qualifications Required:
Experience in a Materials, Process & Physics.
Experience in contamination control, mechanical assembly, welding, orbital tube welding, adhesives, sealants, Thermal Protection Systems, wire harness routing and troubleshooting, metallurgy a plus.

Additional information:
Candidates for this position will require the ability to obtain badging for NASA facility.
This is a sensitive safety position subject to NASA, requiring random drug testing.

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Must be US Person for purposes of Export Compliance.

The following shifts are available:
1. This is a first shift weekend coverage shift. This position is for an Alternate Work Week Schedule for either Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (12 hours each day), OR Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (12 hours each day). A 4 X 10 hour schedule may also be considered which spans the weekend.
2. Alternate Work Schedule required - This is a second shift weekend coverage shift. This position is for an Alternate Work Week Schedule for either Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (12 hours each night/evening), OR Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (12 hours each night/evening).
3. A 4 X 10 hour schedule may also be considered which spans the weekend.
4. This position is for 2nd Shift Work Schedule, Monday – Friday X 8 Hrs / Day. Overtime may be required.
5. This position is for 3rd shift position (Sunday – Thursday) X 8 Hr / Day. Overtime may be required.
