Reliability Engineer 4

Description:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Probability/Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines and a minimum of 9 years' relevant experience (7 years with a Master's degree).
Candidate is expected to have an understanding of technical principles, theories, subsystem design, and knowledge of general satellite design.
Ability to perform various reliability related tasks including: providing reliability support to the design team through the performance of design tradeoffs, reliability failure rate/MTBF predictions, de-rating analysis, allocation of reliability requirements, performing failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and identify fault modes and responses, identify critical items and document controls, and support to design reviews.
Candidate has a familiarity with functional block diagrams, reliability block diagrams, and ability to interpret schematics.
Candidate must show an understanding of how a unit functions independently as well as interacts with other units.
Candidate must be able to develop technical solutions to potential reliability and availability problems.
Applicant must be able to adapt probability and statistical tools to solve problems involving non-standard configurations and definitions of system success; knowledge of industry tools used to conduct Reliability analysis.
Individual must have the ability to prepare and present briefings to senior leadership and external customers, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have experience with modeling and simulations, and software analysis tools used in Reliability analysis.
Must be proficient with Microsoft tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD.
Reliability experience in a Space related program.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Probability/Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines, OR 7 Master's degree is required.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek
