EMI/EMC Test Engineer

Description:
Responsibilities:
Plans, prioritizes and organizes available resources to meet Group and Company objectives and schedules.
Responsible for the setup and conduct of assigned test projects.
Provides supervision to test technicians and support engineers in the setup and conduct of tests.
Ensures test technician(s)/support engineer(s) understand test requirements and method of conducting test.
Provides support to test technician(s)/support engineer(s) in the setup and conduct of test projects.
Sets leadership example in the conduct and documentation of test projects.
Assesses capital equipment needs of Group and provides recommendations to Management.
Supports the training and development of laboratory personnel
Responsible for the quality of work performed by the Group.
Reviews test data to ensure accuracy prior to moving to next task
Alerts client and test engineer/manager of any out-of-tolerances or other anomalies and documents appropriately (notice-of-anomaly or test discrepancy report)
Prepares 'Basis of Estimates” and 'Cost Estimates” in support of proposals.
Represents the Group and Company in a professional and disciplined manner
Adheres to plans and schedules (discusses with supervision any proposed deviations prior to action being taken)
Does not make commitments to clients or prospective clients without first obtaining approval of laboratory manager.
Plans ahead with client to facilitate test project.
Provides positive leadership to co-workers
Responsible for the generation of test plans and procedures.
Responsible for the accuracy of the technical content of docum
ents generated.
Interfaces directly with client to ensure accuracy and completeness of document.
Provide leadership towards maintaining ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation compliance
Pursue continuous improvement initiatives in accordance with requirements for accreditation compliance
Support on-site assessments by accrediting body auditors
Conduct laboratory quality audits

Qualifications:
BS Electrical Engineering

Knowledge Desired:
MIL-STD-461 Test Specifications
RTCA/DO-160 Test Specifications
Desired 4 years or more experience in laboratory environment with direct knowledge of EMI/EMC testing
