Description
This position is for a landing gear design engineer. A successful candidate will have a complete understanding of the principles and techniques of aircraft mechanisms, landing gear and structural design for advanced air vehicles. The candidate will coordinate efforts across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Quality Assurance, Planning, Tooling, Structural Analysis, Materials & Processes, Flight Sciences, Test and Manufacturing. Responsibilities for this position include: • Create conceptual layouts and preliminary designs of landing gear systems. • Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work. • Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans. • Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams. • Provide manufacturing, component test and ground/flight test support. • May function in a project leadership role managing the system performance, budget and schedule. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:

• Proficient with CATIA V5. • Experience in landing gear design
Desired:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline with 5 years of experience or Master's Degree in an Engineering Discipline with 3 years of experience • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) • Experience in mechanism design • Experience in airframe structure design • Experience with hand stress analysis
