Reliability, Maintainability, Safety Engineer

Description:
Supports and managesprojects ensuring that designs are sufficiently robust to satisfy customers needs for equipment that is life cycle cost-effective without sacrificing operator, maintainer, or system safety.


Enter daily flight test maintenance event data and aircraft status data into the R&M Failure Reporting, Analysis & Corrective Action System (FRACAS) database. The collection of the flight test maintenance event data to be entered into FRACAS requires:
* Reviewing operations data, test logs and the data contained in Clients Flight Article Aircraft Tracking System (FACTS),
* Interviewing Client Development Flight Center (DFC) maintainers, pilots and operations personnel,
* Photographing part damage

Other associated tasks include:
* Working with Quality and IPT members to tag and isolate discrepant parts for Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis,
* Ensuring discrepant components are properly dispositioned prior to their return to the Supplier or shipment to Client,
* Supporting daily updates of the parts status and management process to ensure timely root cause analysis and return of items to the supply chain,
* Supporting preliminary R&M scoring of FRACAS events.

Must be comfortable building relationships with on-site USAF personnel and Client operations and maintenance workforce.

Experience / Background:
A.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, preferred but not required and may be waived if candidate has sufficient practical experience, such as the following:
* Military maintenance background on HH-60G aircraft is preferred.
* Previous commercial A&P or military aircraft maintenance.
* Previous experience in aircraft test operations support.
* R&M FRACAS, failure analysis experience preferred, but is not required.
* Familiarity with USAFs Integrated Maintenance Data Collection System (IMDS) is preferred.

Other skills required:
* Must be a self-starter and work independently, requiring a minimum of supervision.
* Must be comfortable building relationships with customer and hourly-workforce.
* Must possess skill level capable of performing tasks required to support the FRACAS program.
* Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Computer familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Picture Manager (or similar photo imager tool) and Outlook.

Position may require some overtime and/or support of second or third shift and/or occasional weekends in support flight test and maintenance schedules.

Ability to get Security clearance is also preferred, but not required

NOTE: Candidate will be assigned to the Client Development Flight Test facility in West Palm Beach Florida from approximately December 2018 - June 2019 and then will be transferred to the USAF Duke Field facility in Crestview, Florida (June 2019 - June 2020).
