Embedded Software Engineer - Aerospace Avionics

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for developing software requirements and software development utilizing C and C++. Must have software test knowledge and will be involved in the entire software life cycle, including software design, coding, integration, debugging, and full documentation. Provides software engineering and engineering support as an individual contributor under technical direction. This position required a broad general knowledge of software engineering principles, theories and techniques.

Provides software engineering and engineering support, research, evaluation and development for highly complex and technical space-based aerospace products. Uses the application of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Designs, develops, tests and verifies complex engineering tasks in software, systems, and/or hardware components. Work may encompass a wide range of sophisticated (cross-discipline) engineering problem resolutions. The role can involve software design and development engineering assignments related to products and systems including the engineering of new products or updates to existing products.

Required Experience:

BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline

15+ years of experience designing and developing complex software applications and components working directly with HW/SW

Strong working knowledge of the C++, C programming languages

Multi-threaded programming

Excellent object-oriented design skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Cross-platform application development (Linux/Unix)

Desired Skills:

Experience with model based development

IBM Rhapsody experience – with code generation

Knowledge of the Agile Scrum software development process

Familiar with the concepts and fundamentals of Geospatial Analytics
