Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
• Lead, coordinate and/or participate in PHA and LOPA activities. Must be knowledgeable and competent with these processes.
• Write and implement effective procedures that support process safety initiatives.
• Monitor and develop key performance indicators (most importantly, leading indicators) to track PSM progress.
• Develop and maintain safety critical equipment and safety system lists for IPLs, SIS, and other loss prevention systems, as identified in the PHA/LOPA or other risk assessments.
• Participate in process safety audits and gap analyses.
• Coordinate process safety knowledge sharing and best practices across multiple assets.
• Communicate external process safety events and share best practices identified within the company.
• Participate in incident investigations.
• Participate in company process safety technical networks.
• Track, understand and help resolve action items related to process safety.
• Interprets and reviews application of codes, standards and common industry practices.
• Assist with process safety training for new and experienced employees

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Basic/Required Qualifications:
• Valid driver license
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience applying PSM principles for the oil and gas or chemical industry.
• Knowledgeable about PHA and LOPA methodologies.
• Trained as a PHA and LOPA Leader and experience as a facilitator and/or scribe of PHAs and LOPAs.
• Knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledgeable in relief system evaluations and designs.
• Familiar with Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF), associated Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Cause and Effect Charts, Control System Narrative, ALARP
• Trained as a PHA and LOPA Leader and experience as a facilitator and/or scribe of PHAs and LOPAs.
• Expertise in PHA/LOPA Software and Consequence Modeling Software
• Familiarity with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices
• Demonstrated ability to independently organize, prioritize, and coordinate a heavy work load in a potentially high stress, schedule driven environment to meet commitments.
• Ability to facilitate group meetings obtaining and valuing input from all levels.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
