Location: Ridley Park, PA/ Herndon, VA
Duration: 12 Months

Description:
Develops and maintains basic cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Assists with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Develops and maintains basic electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Collects data to support the development of statements of work. Assists in data gathering of supplier capabilities. Reviews functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture. Works under close supervision.

The client is seeking a Wire Design & Install Engineer to join the Philadelphia Design Center with the focus being on collaboration with the Electrical Design Team to create electrical designs in support of various projects and programs throughout the client Enterprise. This Level 2 position will physically reside in Ridley Park, PA.

Position Responsibilities
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs
- Supports analysis and design reviews
- Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)
- Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)
- Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
- Supports the development of statements of work
- Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
- Analyzes functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture
- Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
- Bachelors of Science degree or higher
- College coursework and/or work experience with computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing (CAD / CAM) software)
- MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
- Mentor Graphics Capital (MGC) or Enovia experience
- CATIA V5 experience
- Experience in wire harness design, wire harness installation or equipment installation
- College coursework and/or work experience with client design, production, and build processes is a PLUS
- Communicator, working in teams

Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically < 2 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Education / Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree in an engineering classification from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
