Electrical Engineer

Description:
Manages research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, PC Board Layout, Electronics Packaging equipment, facilities, systems, products and networks for commercial, industrial and governmental purposes.
Candidate will perform typical design engineering tasks, including modeling, and layout generation with drafting interface but must be able to effectively communicate and work cross-functionally as a team member.


Additional Job Details:
This position will provide product support for a variety of space hardware electronic components and electrical systems.
Additionally will include the development of new components and features.
The position will play a crucial role in new product development, maintaining product integrity, evaluating change opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems.
Working to meet agreed upon cost and schedule commitments.
The candidate should be able to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams, analyze complex problems to identify root cause and develop innovative solutions. Ability to work across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel is required.
Occasional shift work required to support EVA Mission Operations.

Education/Certifications:
* Bachelor's degree with 2 to 5+ years experience
* Master's degree with 0 to 2+ years experience
* The preferred candidate will have 2 - 5 years of experience in the integration and test of space flight qualified hardware. Experience/Qualifications
* Sound electrical engineering background (wiring diagrams, systems analysis, motor and control applications, and control logic)
* Experience working with suppliers/3rd parties
* Experience in video and display technologies a plus
* Experience with test and measurement equipment
* Understanding of mechanical and software functions
* Strong communications and leadership ability
* MS Office applications
* Understanding of PCB assembly and other manufacturing processes
