QA Inspector

Description:
Job Functions:
• Performs inspection activities including, but not limited to First Article Inspections, PPAP review, Receiving Inspection and analysis of vendor test data to ensure part, product and/or process conformance by using assembly instructions, manufacturing orders, ERP system data, drawings and quality databases on incoming material, in-process and completed assemblies as required to meet quality levels mandated by the company and/or product line requirement.

• Assist in quality audits, workmanship defect reduction efforts, corrective and preventive action identification, analysis and reporting, inspection of returned units, special inspections

• Assist departments in meeting product quality targets by working closely with Engineering, Materials Management and Operational Excellence by coordinating feedback on problems affecting quality (e.g. work instructions, BOM, tooling issues, raw materials, training, and prints) to supervisors, managers and engineers as needed.

• Initiate, participate in and/or coordinate internal 8D corrective actions (CARs), Failure Effect Mode Analysis, and Control Planning to include follow-up of vendor 8D corrective actions

• Communicates quality standards on an ongoing basis to production personnel and teams as required.

• Adheres to all Client Health and Safety rules, regulations and work instructions.

• Coordinates feedback on problems affecting quality (e.g. work instructions, BOM, tooling issues, raw materials, training and prints) to Supervisors and Quality Engineers., Mfg Engineers, or product Engineers as needed in accordance with ISO 9000 and EQS requirements.

• Train and educate associates in product inspection to drive performance improvements and communicate quality standards on an ongoing basis to production personnel and teams as needed.

• Fosters an environment that promotes Client's goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.

• Work with others in a productive, respectful, teamwork oriented atmosphere.

• Perform other duties as required.



Required

• Minimum of 3 years experience in quality, manufacturing, and/or engineering of electro- mechanical devices

• Basic understanding of the principles and methodology of Quality Control and Quality Assurance

• Ability to use standard computer applications: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret product drawings, manufacturing documents, quality specs, and industry/trade magazines

• Ability to use good judgment and problem solving skills to make informed decisions

• Demonstrates a strong customer service attitude

• Strong written and oral communication skills

 


Preferred


• Technical Associates degree or equivalent

• Working knowledge of ASQ and ISO auditing standards

• Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts

• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
