Mechanical Design Engineer- Solidworks

Sr. Mechanical Designer

Summary of Job Description:

The Senior Mechanical Designer will be working under the direction of the Systems Engineer and Mechanical Engineers, the Designer will create 3-D CAD models and assemblies in support of proper design at the component or subsystem level. The Designer will also work collaboratively with other Designers on the program to ensure best practices of solid modeling are properly implemented. The Designer will also work closely with the assigned Engineer in the design of geothermal Environmental Control Units (ECU’s) and various fix and mobile structures they will be integrated into.

Job Requirements:

Prototype Design Experience required
Provide 3D design support utilizing SolidWorks Parametric Software (2-3 years exp min)
Experience working with large assemblies’ structures as large as 20ft long, 8ft by 8ft high
Experience with designing sheet metal & sheet metal fabrication including all fasteners including aluminum and steel welding assembly
Drawing development utilizing MIL Standards and ASME Standards
Experience designing for Military Ruggedness and environmental design experience is a significant plus (MIL-STD-810 Specifically)
Personnel occupied enclosure/facility experience (Doors and human factors for operator space).
