ELECTRICAL ENGINEER III - ELECTRONIC DESIGN

Johnson Service Group is currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for a Temporary position with our Customer in Warrendale, PA. through 2018

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for design, layout, testing, and evaluation of electrical and electromechanical devices and systems. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary product development team to assess customer needs, generate and analyze concepts, create requirements and specifications, and perform formal risk assessments. They will design parts and sub-assemblies, participate in cross-functional design reviews, and support the transition of projects from development to manufacturing and field service. They will create schematics, wiring diagrams, system diagrams and PCB layouts as well as check drawings to ensure they meet specification and follow best industry practices. Essential Functions:

Responsible for the design, and analysis of complex level electrical systems, equipment and PCB assemblies.
Conduct feasibility studies of new and modified designs exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
Work on complex multi-product level problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
Direct support personnel in the preparation of prototype fabrication.
Participate in multi-disciplinary technical teams to research, develop, test and evaluate solutions.
Evaluate issues and failures to determine root cause and potential solutions
Work on intermediate level component and subassembly problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
Collaborate with software, mechanical, testing and other cross functional teams to perform FMEAs and risk assessments.
Mentoring and coordination of other engineers.
Direct support of customers, to include travel to off-site locations as necessary to evaluate field issues.
Educational Requirements:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Required Knowledge and Skills:

4+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
Experience the electrical and cross functional aspects of a formal product development environment including schematic capture, PCB development, Bill of Materials, MRP systems and associated tools (including Orcad or Altium).
Demonstrated experience designing electrical and robotic subassemblies and systems
Understanding of architectural design concepts of machine controls and I/O systems
Able to effectively solve problems, work independently on system level designs and multi-task as required.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Self-starter, capable of working independently as well as building strong cross functional collaborative relationships.
Must be able to work in a team environment and assist cross functional teams with the debugging of complex issues.
The candidate must be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
Must be legally authorized to work in United States
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

Familiarity with PCB development including footprint generation and PCB layout a plus.
Familiarity with motion controllers, servo- and stepper- motors, and networked I/O systems a plus.
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and ECR, ECO processes.
Experience in LabView
Working experience with FDA regulated, ISO13485, or other highly regulated environments.
