Software OR Systems Engineers

Primary Location: Cedar Rapids, IA Schedule: Full time
Travel: None Duration: On-Going contract

Currently seeking qualified engineers to develop system requirements, product software, test cases, and test software for a variety of rotary and fixed wing platforms.

Other responsibilities and job requirements include:

• Experience with systems and software tools (DOORS, Python, ADA, C, Matlab, JAMA)
• Time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work
• Basics of risk management (identify, quantify, and mitigate risks)
• Effective communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
• Scope management
• Perform cost/benefit analysis
• Familiarity with the AGILE development process
• Familiarity with Flight Controls, Flight Management Applications, and Flight Management Products
• Familiarly with aerospace and avionics

Job Requirements

• Significant Avionics FMS or Flight Controls software experience is required
• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related scientific discipline
• Strong object oriented language (C++, C#, Python, etc.) and software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
• Embedded software experience is required
• Knowledge of DO-178 Development Standards
• Working knowledge of high-order programming languages (C, Ada, C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc.)
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Software experience that can also write Low and Higher Level Requirements and associated tests.
• Debugging software on target hardware to obtain root cause is also a plus
• Strong background with GUI a plus!
• Hands-on experience with avionics and flight deck controls is preferred.
• Defense or Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
• Certification experience with avionics, specifically DO-178B/C and ARP4754A is also preferred.
