Tooling Designer (Aerospace)

Description:
Sterling Engineering does business with the Department of Defense. The Department of Defense requires, for security reasons, that all employees be US Citizens. This position is located in Rockford, IL.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-2 year degree (technical or math discipline) – desired
-Strong knowledge of work holding methods for complex parts (i.e. housings) - required
-5+ years 3D modeling and detailing experience required, including: Fixture/gage design, Annotation, CREO/ProE 3D/parametric (preferred), Unigraphics, or Solidworks
-Strong GD&T and Blueprint knowledge – required
-Basic understanding of manufacturing processes used to produce precision metal components – strongly desired including turning, milling, grinding, heat treat, anodizing
-Tolerance Stack-up knowledge - required
-Strong written and verbal communication skills - required
-Ability to function as a team member – required
-Accurate and detail oriented - required
-Self-directed, self-starter - required
