PCB Designer

Location: York, PA
Duration: 18 months with possible Contract to hire

Description:
The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Designer position performs schematic capture, layout and implementation of design rules on PCBs of varying complexity. The proper PCB tools are applied to ensure that the board functions as expected with reference to specific requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Develop electronic PCB component library figures.
- Understand electronic symbols and how they interconnect to each other.
- Prepare layouts and component placement based on design rules and processes.
- Prepare assembly drawings and BOMs.
- Be able to gain a quick understanding of documentation structure and applicable processes.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes.
- Work with PCB manufacturing and engineering to develop/revise PCB processes to ensure quality.
- Provide direction and training to and check work of less experienced PCB tool users.
- Possess enough knowledge of Pro-E to provide 3-D conversion from PCB layout tool.

Qualifications:
- Should have at least 8 years of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) schematic capture/Layout experience in Mentor (DX Designer, Expedition and Hyperlinx) and/or P-CAD, preferably in the area of embedded systems.
- Should possess a two year technical or associate degree in a related field.
- Experience in the use of Theda is desirable.
- Requires a self-assertive individual that will take the initiative to quickly gain product knowledge and be able to apply that knowledge with minimal direction.
- Self-motivated, team oriented individual who can work independently and can multiplex several tasks.
- Maintain focus on project schedules and follow through to meet them.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, etc.
