Senior Electrical Engineer

Description:
A Senior Electrical Engineer - Sensors and Controls job is currently available as a work from home position with home office in Windsor Ct. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits. To be considered, you will need a bachelor's degree in electrical or aerospace engineering degree and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in industry. In this job you will support multiple companies that require complex sensors and actuators as part of control and information systems. The successful candidate will have experience designing electrical systems that interface with a variety of sensing elements such as pressure, temperature, position, proximity, and actuators such as electric motors or valves.

Senior Electrical Engineer Job Duties:
· Design and analyze circuits consisting of sensors, embedded controllers, and actuators across a wide range of industries. Often the equipment is in harsh environments which could be high temperature, high vibration, exposed to radiation in space, or other application requirement.
· Work with suppliers to ensure the system of sensor/controller/actuator will perform as intended in the expected environment.
· Perform verification of first article hardware using electronic lab equipment.
· Interpret and apply system hardware requirements.
 
Job Qualifications:
· Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering Degree
· Demonstrated experience in design of system with closed loop control where performance of the sensors and actuators over the range of environmental conditions is critical.
· Knowledge of sensor and actuator operation, design, validation, assembly procedures, failure analysis, and environmental test methods.
· Experience creating sensor subsystem documentation, such as requirements flow-down, test plans, drawings, and validation reports is desired.
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required/U.S. Citizen only
 
Preferred Skills:
· Spice, Printed Circuit Board design software, sensor interface design, analog circuit design, experience in aerospace, maritime, or other safety critical industries
· Familiarity with DO-254, DO-160, DO-178, ARP4754 and/or other development assurance guidelines desired but not required
· Knowledge of Military, NASA, and JEDEC specifications and requirements related to electronic components desired but not required
· Experience with structured requirements documentation systems such as DOORs or JIRA
