Military Vehicle Mechanical Engineer (564)

Description:
We are hiring for a Mechanical Engineer II who will support the development of ground combat vehicles, responsible for reviewing engineering CAD models, drawings and documentation to determine classification of commodities within the International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) control for the purposes of Import/Export compliance.



This position will perform United States Munition List (USML) or Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classifications and determine the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code and Schedule B number on new release and legacy commodities.

Typical duties include: Ensure a safe working environment and compliance to safety objectives and policies, conducting reviews of technical documentation to understand form, fit, function for appropriate classification, update properties within documentation and databases, communicate with supporting design functions and doing in-house searches using online resources, CD ROM, catalogs, etc., for part/item screening for various vehicle programs



Required
*2 years Vehicle Engineering experience
*Basic functional understanding of components within vehicle systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, powertrain, suspension, tracks, HVAC, electronics, high voltage systems, armaments, and general hardware
*Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and fluid diagrams
*BSME (or 6 years experience above, in lieu of degree)



Pluses
*Experience with PTC CREO to open models and drawings
*Familiarity with PTC Windchill product data management system
*Understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR)
