Sr. Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Canoga Park, CA
Pay Rate: DOE ($55/hr - $64/hr)
Duration: 1 Year W2 Contract
Shift: First
Travel: Limited travel to the multiple test sites will be required.
**MUST be a U.S. CITIZEN; NO DUAL CITIZENSHIP**

Duties:
-Position is for a senior engineer to support development, qualification, and acceptance testing for RS-25 Liquid Rocket Engine Program.
-This position requires knowledge and experience with rocket propulsion systems, data analysis, systems integration, and test planning.
-Tasks include development of test plans, development of test procedures, data analysis, generation of technical documents, preparation/presentation of technical briefings to internal/external customers.
-Under general direction, the Senior Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating an in depth understanding and application of principles concepts and practices.

Breakdown:
90% - The candidate will be required to operate under limited supervision after receiving direction from the the Integrated Product Team Lead and Systems Development Lead. The candidate will be expected to support coordination activities regarding meeting test objectives to develop, qualify and accept the RS-25 liquid rocket engine for flight duty. This includes developing a thorough understanding of the rocket engine systems and test facility systems. The position coordinates the integration of all component and system engineering support for hardware and software. The position leads the post engine test data analysis and any potential anomaly resolution. The position coordinates, prepares, and presents hardware acceptance reviews to the customer. The candidate will be responsible for generating and briefing of technical documentation including specifications, software requests, data review, test readiness reviews, anomaly reports, hardware acceptance reviews, and test report documents.
10% - Limited travel to the multiple test sites will be required.

Skills Required:
-Mechanical Systems Integration, Mechanical Systems Testing, Data Analysis, Test Planning
-Aerospace systems engineering experience

Desired:
-Requirements definition & verification, liquid rocket engine test experience, experience with LOX & LH2 propellants, experience with rocket engine assembly

Education:
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
