Description:
Mechanical Engineer Senior- contract injection molding

JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is on one of Insitu’s air vehicle teams. This role will work with other engineers and designers to achieve the goals of assigned programs and projects.
The air vehicle integrated product team (IPT) is in the process of evaluating and where feasible and cost effect converting parts to be injection molded.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record for taking parts from development to production with a complete understanding of the process, material selection, achievable tolerances, verification and validation methods associated with complex 3D geometries.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience with computer aided tools including both solid modeling and drafting packages is required. Experience with Solidworks is strongly desired.
Experience using FEA modeling tools is desired.
•Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials science, and prototyping techniques is strongly desired.
•Ability to apply mechanical engineering theories to practical designs is required.
•Ability to establish test requirements from supporting documentation, test plans, internal and external customers is desired.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
•Knowledge of injection molding process, materials and limitations is required.
•Knowledge of design and drafting methods including geometric dimensioning & tolerance is strongly desired.
•Knowledge of engineering tests techniques, methods, equipment and instrumentation is strongly desired.
•Knowledge of domestic and international regulations (e.g. FAA or DOD regulations) on the certification of test articles/vehicles to assure compliance of design is desired.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
8 or more years in an engineering classification with a Bachelor's degree or 6 or more years in an engineering classification with a Master's degree.
