Johnson Service Group is seeking experienced Structural Analysis Engineers for contract opportunities supporting the structural design, analysis, and development of unmanned composite aircraft.
The ideal candidates will have a strong background in airframe structural analysis, composite materials, finite element modeling (FEM), and structural sizing.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural sizing, layout, and analysis of aircraft structures.
Develop structural loads and conduct finite element model (FEM) analysis.
Evaluate structural integrity, strength, and performance of composite airframe structures.
Develop and analyze FEMs and Global Finite Element Models (GFEMs).
Perform hand calculations and validate structural analysis results.
Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, and design review materials.
Support structural testing, troubleshooting, and flight test activities.
Required Qualifications
Expertise in Patran/Nastran or HyperMesh/Nastran/OptiStruct.
Experience in aircraft or airframe structural analysis.
Strong experience with composite laminate analysis.
Experience developing and working with FEMs/GFEMs.
Strong hand calculation skills using engineering references and methods such as Bruhn, Shigley, and Roark.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
