Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Insulator's for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Minimum of least one to three years of experience as a marine pipe coverer working on various steam piping systems. o Experience applying molded pipe sections, tempmat, and block insulation to steam piping systems and components such as turbines, pumps, and other equipment. o Ability to install, remove, and repair molded insulation, including calcium silicate, tempmat, and finishing cement, on various sizes of piping systems. o Ability to properly cut and apply fiberglass cloth over insulated sections, ensuring a smooth finish without trapping excessive glue. o Must demonstrate high-quality workmanship, including the ability to cut proper miters. o Ability to apply adhesives while using masking, drop cloths, and other protective measures to prevent adhesive from getting on adjacent surfaces. o Must be able to climb vertical ladders, bend, squat, kneel, work in confined spaces, and work around moving equipment. o Ability to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Medical Requirements: o Respirator medical clearance (OSHA questionnaire) o MSA Comfo Classic half mask respirator fit test o Pulmonary function test/spirometry o TB screening o Silica medial surveillance o Chest X-ray/B-read o Audiogram PPE Requirements; Hard hat, safety, glasses, respirator, steel toes, ear muffs, full face respirators.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS: All Shifts.
