Chipton-Ross is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 for a contract opportunity in Hanover, MD.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). o Minimum 2 years of experience performing technician responsibilities. o Experience with one or more of the following: Blueprints, Technical Drawings, Diagrams, Instructions, or Schematics.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Looking for a Maintenance Technician 2 to support our Facilities Thermal Test department. As a member of the Facilities Test department, you'll get to support thermal vacuum and cycle testing of complex flight and development hardware.
Responsibilities: Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Experience Operating and Maintaining Thermal Vacuum and Thermal Cycle Chambers. o Experience working on space flight hardware or thermal testing. o Experience with LabView and data acquisition systems. o Experience working in a clean room facility. o Experience with mechanical and electronic repair.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS: Full-Time 9/80B workweek. This position will serve on-site at Hanover, Maryland. This is a second shift position, 3pm to 12:30am.
