Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Writes, rewrites, and edits technical documents including technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications.

Prepares Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals, Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL), and graphics.

Develops technical publications in accordance with MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-PRF-63002, and MIL-PRF-63033 requirements.

Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing production methods, and referring to technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering illustrations.

Oversees preparation of illustrative materials including drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.

Conducts quality review of technical publication materials.

Uses XML, SGML, Arbortext, UltraEdit, ISOdraw, and similar tools for technical publication development.

Develops and populates technical data in the Logistics Management Information (LMI) system compliant with GEIA-STD-0007.

Coordinates and supports technical meetings with customers and team members for documentation compliance.

Researches and writes maintenance technical content including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements:

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

3-5 years of experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML).

3-5 years of experience with Arbortext and UltraEdit or similar tools.

3-5 years of experience as a technical writer.

3-5 years of experience with MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-PRF-63002, and MIL-PRF-63033.

3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.

3-5 years of experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development.

3-5 years of experience with Graphics illustration using ISOdraw or similar tools.

3-5 years of experience researching and writing technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures.
