Chipton-Ross is seeking a Welder 3 for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): • High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related welding experience. • Demonstrated experience in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding in a manufacturing or tool fabrication environment. • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions. • Demonstrated ability to perform fit-up, joint preparation, welding, and finishing of components to required specifications. • Experience using standard measuring and inspection tools to verify quality and dimensional compliance. • Working knowledge of weld quality requirements, common defects, and corrective actions. • Ability to safely set up and operate welding equipment and related shop tools. • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and support team objectives in a fast-paced production environment. • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including lifting, standing, bending, and material handling. • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable certifications or internal qualifications.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys. • Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS: Full-Time 4/10 workweek.
