Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technician for a contract opportunity in New Orleans, LA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): • At least 1 year of experience performing technician tasks on spaceflight hardware in a manufacturing environment. • Experience assembling precision mechanical components for spaceflight hardware. • Experience performing composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly tasks. • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and written work instructions. • Ability to work under general supervision. • US Citizen.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs a variety of duties in the electronic mechanical electromechanical or optical areas. Constructs troubleshoots calibrates adjusts tests and maintains equipment components devices or systems. Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal insturctions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments modifications and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): Experience evaluating new processes or products. Experience identifying and isolating process problems. Experience supporting mechanical and electrical processing operations. Experience with cable harness fabrication, routing, and related assembly activities. Experience communicating technical findings to operators, engineers, or other team members. Completion of a technical program at a community college or a college degree from an accredited university. Familiarity with NASA requirements.
