Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer 2

Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking a GNC Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in Chandler, AZ.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience, in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
o Must have an existing U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level.
o Experience with guidance, navigation, and/or control concepts, algorithms, or analysis.
o Experience supporting development, modeling, simulation, test, integration, or analysis of aerospace or autonomous systems.
o Experience with one or more of the following: C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar technical software tools, with development in a Linux environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Responsibilities include designing, developing, implementing, verifying, and testing high quality software and simulation toolchains.
o Developing and maintaining six degree of freedom (6 DOF) simulations to design, analyze, and test flight algorithms and flight code.
o Optimizing flight and simulation software for performance, robustness, and maintainability.
o Using trajectory analysis and optimization tools to evaluate mission performance and GNC designs.
o Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support integration, test, and analysis activities.
o This position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required program access(es) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Master's or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline. Strong foundation in control systems theory and guidance law design. Navigation experience including Kalman filters, GPS anti jam techniques, and M code. Experience with tracking, discrimination, and state estimation algorithms. Competence in C++, Python, Jira, and development in a Linux environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek. On-site in Chandler, AZ.
