PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with an aerospace leader to hire a Senior UX Designer / UX Strategist / Experience Architect to support digital transformation initiatives with a leader in the aerospace industry. 

In this role, you’ll connect user needs, business processes, and emerging technologies to design smarter, more effective experiences. You’ll lead research and discovery, uncover opportunities for innovation, and help cross-functional teams translate complex challenges into measurable business outcomes. What You’ll Do 

• Drive UX Strategy: Frame complex problems, identify high-value opportunities, and translate user needs into actionable experience strategies. 

• Lead Research & Discovery: Conduct interviews, usability testing, surveys, and stakeholder workshops to uncover insights and validate concepts. 

• Architect Experiences: Develop journey maps, service blueprints, workflows, and future-state experience models that connect people, processes, systems, and data. 

• Optimize Business Processes: Map current-state workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend opportunities for automation, simplification, and redesign. 

• Prototype & Validate: Use Figma, FigJam, and other tools to visualize concepts, create wireframes, and rapidly test ideas before major investments. 

• Lead Cross-Functional Workstreams: Establish milestones, manage dependencies, align stakeholders, and drive decisions across Product, Engineering, Data, Architecture, and Design. 

• Enable Digital Transformation: Explore how AI, automation, and emerging technologies can improve user experiences and business performance. 

Required & Preferred Qualifications 

Required Qualifications 

• Demonstrated experience in UX strategy, UX research, experience architecture, service design, or a related discipline. 

• Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, define problems, identify opportunities, and develop actionable strategies. 

• Experience planning and conducting user research and translating findings into meaningful recommendations. 

• Knowledge of business process mapping, workflows, journey mapping, and future-state experience design. 

• Hands-on proficiency with Figma, FigJam, Miro, or similar design and collaboration tools. 

• Ability to create wireframes, low- to mid-fidelity prototypes, and experience models to communicate and validate concepts. 

• Strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. 

• Technical fluency to collaborate with product, engineering, data, and architecture teams. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience applying AI, automation, analytics, or emerging technologies to experience strategy. 

• Background in enterprise, technical, aerospace, or other complex or regulated environments. 

• Familiarity with research tools such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, or Dovetail and analytics platforms such as GA4 or Adobe Analytics. 

• Experience with Agile environments and tools such as Jira and Confluence. 

• Ability to translate research insights into business cases, product strategies, and transformation roadmaps. 

• Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops or coaching teams in human-centered design practices.
