Schedule: 1st Shift | Flexible Business Hours (7:00 AM-4:00 PM, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM-6:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $61.70/hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Liaison Engineer to support a global leader in the energy industry. As a member of the Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) team, you will provide technical ownership of critical turbine hardware while partnering with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and engineering organizations to solve production challenges, improve manufacturability, and support customer fulfillment. Your work will directly influence product quality, operational efficiency, and the successful delivery of advanced energy solutions.
Provide technical ownership of gas turbine flow path hardware, including blades, vanes, stators, heat shields, variable guide vanes, and linkage assemblies.
Analyze and disposition non-conforming hardware while ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and quality standards.
Investigate manufacturing issues and develop engineering solutions to prevent repeat occurrences.
Lead hardware redesign efforts through engineering drawing revisions to improve manufacturability and product performance.
Serve as the technical focal point for second-source supplier qualifications, process changes, and manufacturing improvements.
Conduct technical reviews and assess risks at the component, assembly, and system levels.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams across a global organization.
Support Lean initiatives focused on reducing scrap, non-conformances, lead times, and manufacturing costs.
Ensure adherence to engineering standards, design practices, and technical requirements.
Utilize analytical tools and engineering assessments to resolve complex manufacturing and design challenges.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, coatings, and production methods.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional, global organization.
Ability to prioritize work and adapt quickly to changing business needs.

Experience with manufacturing processes including:
Precision Forging
Investment Casting
Machining (Milling, Turning, Drilling, EDM)
Coating Processes
Shot Peening
Inspection and Fixturing
Experience evaluating and dispositioning non-conforming hardware.
Familiarity with engineering and analytical tools such as Ansys, NX, or similar software.
Experience supporting highly regulated manufacturing environments such as energy, aerospace, power generation, or industrial equipment.
