PDS Tech Commercial is looking for skilled Aviation Maintenance Technicians to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida, partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to support critical military aircraft maintenance.



This is more than a maintenance position. Your craftsmanship will directly contribute to P-8 aircraft readiness, helping return mission-critical aircraft to service and supporting the men and women who depend on them.

  • Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
  • Shift Flexibility: Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift based on business needs
  • Pay Rate starting at : $29.87/hour


What You'll Do



As an Aviation Maintenance Technician, you'll perform structural repair, overhaul, fabrication, and modification work while maintaining rigorous standards for safety, quality, accuracy, and aircraft airworthiness.



Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:




  • Repair and overhaul structures for P-8 aircraft.
  • Perform structural repairs and modifications on military aircraft, commercial derivative aircraft, and flight control components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, process data sheets, specifications, and maintenance instruction manuals.
  • Identify and properly work with various fasteners, including rivets, blind rivets, screws, hi-locks, bolts, and lock bolts.
  • Fabricate, locate, trim, drill, ream, and assemble metallic and composite components.
  • Perform major and minor modifications to aircraft skins and other structural components.
  • Install rivets, blind fasteners, hi-locks, and other hardware in metallic and composite structures.
  • Remove and reinstall access panels and fairings, including removing damaged screws while protecting surrounding structures.
  • Perform close-tolerance drilling and precision measurements on metallic and composite structures.
  • Utilize micrometers, dial calipers, grip gauges, feeler gauges, depth gauges, trimics, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Properly utilize assembly jigs, repair equipment, and fixed tooling to locate, trim, shim, drill, deburr, and build components to blueprint requirements.
  • Apply aircraft finishes, including primer, paint, Alodine, and sealants.
  • Perform safety wiring and cotter pin installation.
  • Complete cleaning, corrosion prevention and control, polishing, and dry-wash tasks.
  • Read and understand Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives, and Service Bulletins applicable to aircraft maintenance.
  • Accurately complete aircraft technical logbooks, maintenance documentation, work packages, and zonal handovers.
  • Identify and communicate technical issues or discrepancies to program leadership.


Required Qualifications



To be successful in this position, you'll need:




  • 3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic experience in commercial aviation, defense aviation, or a relevant trade apprenticeship.
  • 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Ability to perform close-tolerance drilling to at least .003 inch and precision measuring within .003 inch.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform higher-precision structural work, including close-tolerance drilling within .001 inch and precision measurements within .0005 inch, as required by assigned work.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or GED and applicable related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle tools, equipment, materials, and components within established lifting standards.
  • Ability and willingness to work either 1st or 2nd shift according to business needs.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

Candidates will stand out with experience in:




  • Structural repair and modification of military or commercial aircraft.
  • Metallic and composite aircraft structures.
  • Aircraft sheet metal fabrication, drilling, reaming, riveting, and fastener installation.
  • Using precision measuring devices and fixed assembly tooling.
  • Applying aircraft primers, paints, sealants, and corrosion-prevention treatments.
  • Working with Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives, Service Bulletins, and aircraft maintenance documentation.
  • Maintaining a strong First Time Quality mindset in an aviation or manufacturing environment.
  • Supporting military aircraft or other mission-critical aviation programs.

Associate-level technicians should be able to perform assigned work with little or general supervision. Experienced-level technicians should be capable of performing work independently while assisting and supporting other team members.

Pay Details: $29.87 per hour
