PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to find an experienced Design Engineer – AeroMotion for an exciting opportunity in Monroe, Washington.



In this highly technical role, you'll help develop and advance sophisticated aerospace actuation systems, supporting everything from initial design and analysis through testing, certification, production, and sustaining engineering. You'll work with hydraulic and electro-mechanical components while collaborating across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Product Support, and supplier teams.

What You'll Do



As a Design Engineer – AeroMotion, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:




  • Develop, plan, organize, and execute complex engineering design assignments involving aerospace actuation systems.
  • Support both new product development and sustaining engineering designs.
  • Complete development, design, testing, and certification assignments for new products and design modifications.
  • Develop creative and technically sound engineering alternatives to achieve project objectives.
  • Create new designs and incorporate design improvements using CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, or similar CAD platforms, with an emphasis on modeling and drafting.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and other technical groups to develop, implement, monitor, and report on project assignments.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and other engineering personnel to resolve technical and production challenges.
  • Work directly with suppliers to troubleshoot issues and drive timely, efficient solutions.
  • Coordinate work performed by Engineering support groups, Experimental, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management.
  • Partner with Product Support Engineering and production teams to resolve engineering issues that may impede manufacturing.
  • Support the successful incorporation of new design concepts and engineering changes.
  • Contribute to the testing and evaluation of hydraulic and electro-mechanical system components.


Required Qualifications



We're looking for candidates who bring a strong combination of technical expertise, collaboration, and engineering leadership.



Education




  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related engineering field.


Required Skills & Experience




  • Strong familiarity with CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Demonstrated technical and organizational leadership.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively as a team player with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across engineering disciplines to solve complex technical challenges.


Preferred Qualifications



Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas will help you stand out:



Actuation & Mechanical Systems




  • Hydraulic actuators, including internal locking and non-locking designs
  • Hydraulic valves, reservoirs, accumulators, and pumps
  • Hydraulic power packs
  • Linear and rotary electro-mechanical actuators
  • Ball screws, roller screws, and ACME screws
  • Gears, splines, and planetary gear sets
  • Electronic enclosures
  • Motors and control systems


Aerospace Design, Testing & Manufacturing




  • Manufacturing processes associated with actuation and mechanical components
  • Materials and processes used in aerospace products
  • Finishes and tolerances associated with precision components
  • MMPDS material properties and S-N curves
  • Regulatory requirements for component qualification and certification
  • Vibration modes and vibration testing
  • Thermal considerations affecting components and systems
  • Testing methods used to qualify aerospace products


Additional Technical Skills




  • Familiarity with KissSoft, LabVIEW, MATLAB Simulink, and/or Mathcad
  • Strong technical presentation and communication skills

Pay Details: $70.00 to $100.00 per hour
