PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry to find a highly experienced Stress Engineer ready to solve complex structural challenges and influence the next generation of aircraft.
This is a senior-level engineering opportunity in the Stress organization, ideal for an engineer who brings deep technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the confidence to serve as a recognized authority on complex aircraft structural problems.
Your Impact
As a Senior/Principal Stress Engineer, you’ll guide major engineering programs and provide critical technical expertise supporting the development and production of advanced aircraft.
You’ll evaluate complex structural engineering challenges, develop innovative solutions, and balance technical performance, product cost, schedule, and manufacturability. Your recommendations will help ensure aircraft structures meet demanding requirements for safety, performance, quality, and reliability.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support major engineering programs involving complex aircraft structural challenges.
Select appropriate engineering methods, analytical techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve difficult stress-related issues.
Perform and/or oversee advanced structural engineering analyses and evaluations.
Serve as a recognized technical authority and provide guidance to engineers and cross-functional teams.
Anticipate potential structural issues and develop creative, effective solutions.
Establish engineering standards, methods, and technical guidance for diverse engineering activities.
Make authoritative technical recommendations while balancing performance, cost, and schedule.
Work independently with limited direction while maintaining focus on long-term program objectives.
Provide technical leadership throughout aircraft development and production.
Collaborate with engineering disciplines and other functional organizations to resolve complex aircraft issues.
Stay current on advances in stress analysis, aircraft structures, materials, and related aerospace technologies.
Identify opportunities for innovation that improve aircraft quality, performance, reliability, and effectiveness.
Apply sound engineering judgment to complex technical decisions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline applicable to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
10+ years of experience in a specific technical engineering discipline OR 15+ years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines.
Extensive experience solving complex engineering problems.
Strong technical judgment and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to independently determine appropriate engineering approaches, methods, and evaluation criteria.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical direction and make decisions recognized as authoritative.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Extensive experience in aircraft structural stress analysis or a closely related aerospace engineering discipline.
Experience supporting aircraft development, certification, production, or structural engineering programs.
Deep knowledge of aerospace structural principles, materials, and analysis methodologies.
Experience serving as a technical authority, mentor, or subject-matter expert.
Ability to balance technical requirements with cost, schedule, manufacturability, and program objectives.
Strong knowledge of current developments and emerging technologies within aircraft structures and stress engineering..
