Location: Charlotte, NC | Payrate: $53/hour | Schedule: 2nd shift, 8 or 10 hour shifts as needed and 3rd shift available.
2nd shift will need to be able to work either:
Mon-Thu, 10 Hours, 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM
Mon-Fri, 8-hours, 2:30-11:00
3rd shift, Mon-Fri, 8 hours, 10:30p-7:00a
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the HVAC manufacturing Industry to find a Senior Manufacturing Engineer ready to solve complex challenges, optimize production, and help shape the future of advanced air-cooled chiller manufacturing.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll serve as a primary technical resource for air-cooled chiller manufacturing operations. You’ll tackle complex production challenges, develop and improve manufacturing processes, support new product introductions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Your work will directly influence safety, quality, delivery, cost, throughput, and manufacturability—helping ensure products are built efficiently, consistently, and to the highest standards.
What You’ll Do
Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for air-cooled chiller production.
Lead resolution of complex issues involving mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, controls, and product testing.
Identify and eliminate manufacturing constraints affecting safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Develop and improve processes for mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and factory testing.
Lead continuous improvement projects designed to increase quality, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.
Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, manufacturing documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Partner with Industrial Engineering on factory flow, capacity, and productivity initiatives.
Troubleshoot electrical assemblies, control panels, wiring, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and controls documentation.
Support root-cause investigations involving electrical, controls, and software-related production issues.
Troubleshoot mechanical assembly challenges involving refrigeration systems, piping, structural assemblies, and electromechanical components.
Improve assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and material presentation.
Collaborate with Product Engineering to enhance manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
Support new product launches through process development, production readiness, and manufacturing validation.
Participate in design reviews and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
Work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Product Engineering.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Technology.
5+ years of manufacturing engineering or automation experience.
Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing and production issues.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus.
Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integration and data collection systems.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience supporting new product introductions, process validation, or DFM initiatives.
Strong technical communication skills and the ability to translate complex problems into practical manufacturing solutions.
