Manufacturing Engineer III - 3D Inspection Programmer & Analyst

Schedule: 1st Shift | Business Hours (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $56.48/hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with an industry-leading advanced manufacturing organization seeking a talented 3D Inspection Programmer & Analyst to support critical production and quality initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a metrology professional to work with advanced 3D scanning technologies, develop inspection programs, and directly influence product quality, manufacturing performance, and continuous improvement efforts.

Generate, maintain, validate, and optimize Blue Light inspection programs using ZEISS INSPECT 3D software.
Provide 3D inspection analysis support to Manufacturing Engineering teams.
Support daily shop-floor activities including 3D scanning, program execution, troubleshooting, and inspection data review.
Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standardized inspection methods.
Train operators on new inspection processes, process updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyze dimensional data and inspection results to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and inspection teams to resolve technical challenges and improve processes.
Support initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Assist with continuous improvement projects and implementation of best practices within inspection operations.
Work effectively in a collaborative manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, or Machinist Apprenticeship graduate with 3+ years of dimensional inspection experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of dimensional inspection experience.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience using ZEISS INSPECT/GOM software for 3D inspection and analysis.
Demonstrated proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, Model-Based Definitions (MBD), and GD&T requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Experience programming and operating 3D scanning equipment in manual and automated inspection environments.
Knowledge of point-cloud processing, mesh generation, scan alignment strategies, and scan data cleanup techniques.
Experience generating inspection reports and presenting findings to engineering and production teams.
Familiarity with robotic integration and automated inspection cells.
Experience working with NX solid models, including NX 1965, NX 2206, or NX 2412.
PC-DMIS CMM programming experience.
Experience with VXelements, Geomagic Control X, Creaform, or similar metrology software.
Experience using VBA, Python, or other scripting tools to automate inspection workflows and data analysis.
Strong geometry, trigonometry, and technical math skills.
Experience supporting aerospace, gas turbine, or other highly engineered manufacturing environments.
Ability to support occasional off-shift production needs when required.
