Summary:
Designs and develops new or derivative versions of interior furnishings and amenities for new, custom, and in-service aircraft.
Designs custom cabinetry including galleys, lavatories, vanities, closets, and storage compartments.
Designs interior peripheries including cabin liners, window panels, passenger service units (PSUs), dado panels, and side ledges.
Designs miscellaneous systems including water and waste systems, oxygen systems, and seating.
Builds models and prints demonstrating complete understanding of construction methodologies for component parts and assemblies to end item level.
Understands and demonstrates knowledge of the product development process from concept to production and through sustaining.
Designs installations for interior commodities along with necessary airframe modifications to meet load requirements.
Performs Weight and Center of Gravity Analysis for interior installations.
Creates drawings and models using CATIA V5 interconnected with SmarTeam.
Liaises with Operations, Suppliers, Procurement, Quality, and other departments on engineering issues relating to design and validation through prototyping and reliability testing.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelor's degree.
Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Experience with custom cabinetry including galleys, lavatories, vanities, closets, and storage compartments.
Experience with interior peripheries including cabin liners, window panels, PSUs, dado panels, and side ledges.
Experience with miscellaneous systems including water and waste systems, oxygen systems, and seating.
Experience with Part 25 aircraft and familiarity with Part 135 requirements.
Experience with CATIA V5 interconnected with SmarTeam for design and modeling.
Experience with Weight and Center of Gravity Analysis for interior installations.
