PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Plano, TX, partnering with a leader in the aviation and aerospace industry.



In this role, you'll help design, analyze, test, and certify advanced metallic and composite structures supporting sophisticated aerospace and defense systems. You'll apply your structural engineering expertise to solve complex technical challenges, perform detailed analyses, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet demanding performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do



As a Structural Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:




  • Support the design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite structures.
  • Perform detailed structural and static analyses to evaluate design performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Apply systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to complex structural engineering challenges.
  • Use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other Computer Aided Engineering tools to perform engineering simulations and evaluate structural performance.
  • Ensure structural designs meet applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design and development teams to integrate structural designs into overall systems.
  • Develop, coordinate, and support the execution of structural test plans.
  • Generate, interpret, and review technical documentation, including engineering drawings, structural analysis reports, specifications, and test reports.
  • Clearly communicate technical information, design requirements, recommendations, and project updates to engineers, stakeholders, customers, and management.
  • Occasionally travel to support activities such as aircraft surveys, design reviews, and customer interface meetings.


Required Qualifications



We're looking for candidates who bring:




  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant professional experience in structural engineering or a closely related role, with 6+ years preferred based on the position requirements provided. A higher-level relevant degree may substitute for some experience.
  • Thorough understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience performing static analyses.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and engineering simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications



You'll stand out if you also have:




  • Previous experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience performing classical structural analysis using industry-standard hand calculation methods.
  • Experience conducting fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
  • Familiarity with tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW.
  • Knowledge of FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations.
  • Experience analyzing both metallic and composite aerospace structures.
  • Strong ability to translate complex analysis results into clear technical recommendations.

Pay Details: $60.69 per hour
