PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Plano, TX, partnering with a leader in the aviation and aerospace industry.
In this high-impact role, you'll support the design, analysis, testing, and certification of advanced metallic and composite aerospace and defense structures. You'll use your expertise in structural analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and engineering simulation to solve complex technical challenges and ensure designs meet demanding performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do
As a Structural Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
Supporting the design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite structures.
Performing detailed structural and static analyses to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Applying Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering simulation tools to complex structural challenges.
Using systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop effective structural designs and analytical solutions.
Ensuring designs comply with applicable industry standards, engineering requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary design and development teams to successfully integrate structural designs into larger systems.
Supporting the development and execution of structural test plans.
Generating and reviewing technical documentation, including engineering drawings, structural analysis reports, test reports, and design specifications.
Clearly communicating technical findings, specifications, recommendations, and project updates to engineers, stakeholders, customers, and management.
Supporting design reviews, aircraft surveys, customer meetings, and other engineering events as required.
Traveling occasionally to support aircraft surveys, design reviews, and customer interface meetings.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should have:
Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Typically 6+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
Thorough understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
Experience performing static structural analyses.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and engineering simulation tools.
Knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools.
Experience analyzing metallic structures.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering, design, and development teams.
Strong ability to interpret, generate, and review technical drawings, specifications, structural analysis reports, and test documentation.
Systematic and logical technical problem-solving skills.
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information.
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
A higher-level relevant degree may substitute for a portion of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
You'll stand out with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Background within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Experience performing classical structural analysis using industry-standard hand calculation methods.
Experience with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
Experience utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW.
Familiarity with FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations.
Advanced experience with FEA tools and structural engineering simulation.
Experience supporting aircraft structural design, analysis, testing, or certification.
Experience working directly with customers and participating in formal technical or design reviews.

Pay Details: $68.96 per hour
