In this role, you will support a sophisticated semiconductor fabrication environment, helping maintain the equipment that enables cutting-edge research and production. Your technical expertise will directly contribute to equipment reliability, tool uptime, and the development of revolutionary technologies.

If you're a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced Production/R&D environment and enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work where they matter.

What You'll Do

As a Microelectronic Technician supporting semiconductor equipment operations, you will:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a broad range of front-end and back-end semiconductor equipment, including steppers, evaporators, sputters, implanters, etchers, coaters/developers, and dicing saws.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and basic software/control issues involving legacy and custom equipment.
  • Partner closely with process engineers, researchers, and tool owners to rapidly identify and resolve equipment issues in a dynamic Production/R&D setting.
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment downtime, and parts usage using internal tracking systems.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and decommissioning, coordinating with vendors and facilities teams as needed.
  • Maintain and order critical spare parts, consumables, and safety components.
  • Follow cleanroom protocols while ensuring equipment meets established safety, cleanliness, and calibration standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase equipment uptime, reduce maintenance cycles, and improve the overall user experience.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a technical trade.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and drawings.
  • Familiarity with vacuum pumps, gas systems, and cleanroom operations.
  • Ability to work independently in a research-driven environment with frequent equipment and tool changeovers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to safely work around sophisticated mechanical and electrical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

We'd especially like to hear from candidates who bring:

  • An Associate degree or technical training in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Experience working with legacy semiconductor equipment and both wet and dry processes.
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix R&D or prototyping environments.
  • Basic understanding of front-end and back-end semiconductor fabrication process flows.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols involving gases, chemicals, and high-voltage equipment.
  • Previous experience supporting semiconductor fabrication equipment in a cleanroom environment.

Why Join Us?

At PDS Tech Commercial, we connect skilled professionals with opportunities to contribute to some of the most advanced technology and engineering programs in the industry.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Earn a competitive rate of $51.08 per hour.
  • Work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.
  • Gain valuable experience supporting advanced semiconductor fabrication technology.
  • Collaborate with engineers, researchers, technical experts, and equipment specialists.
  • Strengthen your expertise across mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and semiconductor systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that have a direct impact on equipment performance and operational success.
  • Work in an innovative environment where technical curiosity, collaboration, and creative problem-solving are valued.

This is more than a maintenance role. It's an opportunity to help keep sophisticated technology operating at its best while supporting programs that are shaping the future of aerospace and advanced technology.
