Senior Buyer/Planner

Description:

Keep Aviation Moving: Turn Smart Planning Into Supply Chain Success

Senior Buyer/Planner

PDS Tech Commercial | Partnering with a Leader in the Aviation Industry

Location: Opa-locka Service Center, FL

Shift: Day Shift

Job Type: Full-Time

Your Expertise Keeps Aircraft Operations on Track

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer/Planner to support a leading organization in the aviation industry at its Opa-locka Service Center.

In this key supply chain role, you'll help ensure the right aircraft parts and materials are available at the right time and at the right cost. From managing warranty and core programs to negotiating supplier deliveries and analyzing inventory needs, your work will directly support efficient service center operations and exceptional customer service.

If you know aviation materials, understand the urgency behind aircraft parts, and enjoy solving supply challenges before they become operational roadblocks, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Buyer/Planner, you'll combine purchasing, planning, supplier coordination, and inventory expertise to keep materials flowing efficiently. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Manage core and warranty issues, processes, and supplier programs.
  • Initiate stock transport orders based on inventory and operational requirements.
  • Contact external vendors to determine customer enrollment in warranty and other special programs.
  • Verify supplier pricing to ensure charges align with established contracts.
  • Negotiate timely product deliveries to meet customer and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with buyers and external suppliers to resolve contractual, material, and supply issues.
  • Monitor inventory requirements and apply forecasting and analysis to support appropriate material availability.
  • Use inventory management and MRP systems to enter, retrieve, and analyze material information.
  • Apply your knowledge of aircraft parts, terminology, and Repair Station System inventory processes to daily decisions.
  • Support internal and external supplier programs and help resolve issues that could impact operations.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned programs, processes, or operational areas as needed.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less-experienced team members on systems, processes, and supplier programs.
  • Provide occasional leadership support and management coverage when required.
  • Help drive performance through KPIs, supplier accountability, and proactive resolution of material issues.

Required Qualifications

We're looking for an aviation materials professional who can balance customer needs, inventory requirements, and supplier performance.

Candidates should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aviation, material, or parts environment, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Training or equivalent hands-on experience with an MRP system.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory forecasting and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of inventory planning and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of parts procurement and purchasing processes.
  • Proficiency using computer systems to enter and retrieve inventory management data.
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts and aviation terminology.
  • Understanding of internal and external supplier programs.
  • Working knowledge of Repair Station System inventory processes.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience that can help you stand out includes:

  • Experience driving KPIs and using performance data to improve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex supplier, purchasing, or material issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical or mechanical prints.
  • Experience coordinating directly with suppliers on contractual and supply concerns.
  • Previous experience mentoring or training less-experienced employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a program or process from beginning to end.

Why Join Us?

At PDS Tech Commercial, we connect talented professionals with opportunities to build their careers while supporting some of the most respected organizations in the aviation industry.

In this opportunity, you'll be able to:

  • Put your aviation purchasing and material-planning expertise to work in a fast-moving service center environment.
  • Take greater ownership of programs and processes, giving you the opportunity to influence results instead of simply processing transactions.
  • Build valuable experience across purchasing, forecasting, inventory management, supplier relations, and warranty programs.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to solve challenges that directly affect aircraft service and customer needs.
  • Expand your leadership skills by helping train, mentor, and support fellow team members.
  • Join a collaborative environment where accountability, responsiveness, teamwork, and continuous improvement matter.
  • Strengthen your career with hands-on experience supporting critical aviation operations.

In aviation, having the right part at the right time can make all the difference. As a Senior Buyer/Planner, your ability to anticipate needs, negotiate solutions, and keep materials moving will help ensure operations stay on schedule.
