MRB Engineer

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $60.00 - $82.75/hour

We are seeking an experienced MRB Engineer to support a leading aerospace organization in Mesa, AZ. This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineering professional with extensive Material Review Board (MRB) experience who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. The selected candidate will play a critical role in evaluating, dispositioning, and resolving non-conforming airframe component discrepancies to support vehicle production, flight operations, and sustainment activities.
This position requires strong technical expertise in aircraft structures, manufacturing processes, repair design, and cross-functional collaboration.
Lead Material Review Board (MRB) investigations and evaluate non-conforming metallic and composite aircraft components.
Develop technical solutions, repair designs, and disposition packages for discrepant airframe components.
Analyze complex engineering issues and determine appropriate corrective actions while ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
Coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, Inspection, Stress Analysis, and Materials & Processes teams to resolve production-related issues.
Support vehicle production, integration, testing, delivery, and operational readiness.
Provide engineering guidance and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare clear, concise technical reports and engineering documentation.
Monitor recurring discrepancy trends and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
Work independently while maintaining focus on quality, schedule, weight, cost, and performance requirements.
Provide occasional off-shift or weekend support as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 8 years of aerospace industry experience with a strong emphasis on structural design engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of MRB experience with MRB Signature (Stamp) Authority.
Strong knowledge of aircraft structural design and industry standards related to manufacturing, repair, and assembly.
Experience dispositioning non-conforming metallic and composite components resulting from manufacturing, assembly, or field operations.
Significant experience utilizing CAD software to develop and modify aircraft or spacecraft structures and components.
Knowledge of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5, drawing creation, functional tolerancing, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), configuration management, and requirements management tools.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proven problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience with CATIA V5 and/or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).
Experience with CATIA V5 Composite Part Design (CPD) and/or FiberSIM.
Previous experience designing primary and secondary aircraft or spacecraft structures.
Experience designing sheet metal components.
Knowledge of aerospace fastener systems.
Experience with composite aircraft structural design, manufacturing, repair, and assembly standards.
Experience designing bonded composite structures.
Experience developing flight vehicle systems to requirements and standards such as:
