Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple GNC Engineer 3's for a contract opportunity in Chandler, AZ.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience. o Experience designing, tuning, implementing, and testing guidance algorithms and autopilot parameters for guided missiles and/or interceptors. o Previous experience in designing, implementing, and testing missile autopilot systems. Including exposure to multiple control system schemes for guided missiles and linear stability analysis. o Strong understanding of missile control systems, including classical and modern control theory. o Proficiency in creating and maintaining analysis tools in C++, MATLAB and Python. o Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment. o Proficiency in MATLAB and Python toolchains. o Travel 10% of the time. o Guidance Navigation & Control. o MATLAB Simulink.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: looking for an Engineer Guidance Navigation Control 3 to support our GNC Department. As a member of the SW/GNC department you'll get to work on cutting edge technology while tuning guidance algorithms for hypersonic interceptor development.
Responsibilities Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Experience working with GNC algorithms for hypersonic missiles. o Experience with AEGIS weapon system. o Experience with IR discrimination and tracking. o Familiarity with state estimation and state propagation techniques.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree is required. School must be accredited.
HOURS: 9/80 workweek. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work and will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
