Senior Structural Design Engineer - Wichita

Description:
Seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity in Wichita, Kansas.

Responsibilities:
- Investigate aircraft build issues and develop structural engineering and instrumentation installation solutions
- Author temporary engineering to resolve build issues in a timely manner
- Disposition aircraft non-conformances, including development of rework instructions (MRB)
- Perform aircraft and engineering drawing investigations
- Coordinate with affected engineering disciplines, Quality Assurance, and manufacturing/operations representatives
- Develop Flight Test engineering change requests and coordinate with work-package owners
- Author engineering defining structural special instructions or restrictions
- Design and release Special Missions structural and systems installations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience
- Must meet U.S. ITAR requirements as a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
- Experience with Special Missions or aftermarket aircraft modifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing and aircraft modifications
- Experience leading a team of engineers
- Minimum 15,000 hours of CATIA V5 experience
- Proficiency with CATIA V5 Assembly Design, Part Design/Boolean Operations, Aerospace Sheetmetal, Tubing Design, and Kinematics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- CATIA V5 Electrical Harness Routing experience
- Siemens NX experience
- Teamcenter PLM experience
- Additional aircraft or manufacturing experience
