PDS Tech Commercial is hiring an Electronics Technician to support a leader in the aviation and aerospace industry in Clearwater, Florida.

If you enjoy solving complex electronics problems, troubleshooting down to the component level, and working hands-on with sophisticated test equipment, this is an opportunity to make an impact. You'll work with electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, analog and digital circuitry, and production electronic equipment while helping ensure products meet demanding quality and performance standards.

What You'll Do

As an Electronics Technician, you will:

• Set up test apparatus and conduct testing of electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, subassemblies, and electronic units in accordance with established procedures, standards, and sequences.
  
• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies down to the component level.
  
• Use schematic diagrams to identify and isolate failures in analog and digital circuitry.
  
• Lay out and assemble production electronic equipment according to engineering designs and specifications.
  
• Adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems and test equipment as required.
  
• Diagnose malfunctions and make adjustments or replace components and parts as directed.
  
• Operate hand tools, small power tools, and a variety of electronic measuring and testing devices.
  
• Work with equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, and signal generators.
  
• Determine appropriate testing methods and analyze test results to evaluate product and equipment performance.
  
• Recommend modifications to testing equipment, manufacturing processes, or products when opportunities for improvement are identified.
  
• Assist engineers with the design and development of test procedures for new products.
  
• Monitor and verify product quality in accordance with statistical process controls and other established quality procedures.
  
• Accurately document maintenance and testing activities using Microsoft applications and other data collection programs.
  
• Perform assigned tasks efficiently in a dynamic production environment while supporting customer schedules and production goals.
  

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• High school diploma or equivalent, along with specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform technical or para-engineering assignments.
  
• At least 1 year of direct experience testing electronic assemblies.
  
• Strong electronic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot solid-state and digital circuits at the component level.
  
• Experience troubleshooting and testing electronic circuit cards.
  
• Strong understanding of solid-state devices and micro-circuitry.
  
• Proficiency with electronic measurement and test equipment.
  
• Experience interpreting and working from schematic diagrams.
  
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data collection programs.
  
• Experience with flying probe and/or high-power testing.
  
• Ability to work effectively and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced production environment.
  

Preferred Qualifications

Even better if you bring:

• Familiarity with radar systems.
  
• Experience with vibration and thermal Environmental Stress Screening (ESS).
  
• Experience performing ESS testing on circuit card assemblies and subassemblies.
  
• Additional technical education or training in electronics, electrical technology, or a related discipline.
