PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Repair/Modification Technician – Electrical Mechanic in San Antonio, TX, partnering with a leader in the aviation industry.

• Pay Rate: $45.18 per hour
  
• Schedule: Monday through Friday
  
• Shift: Must be available to work 1st or 2nd shift
  
• Work Location: 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX
  
• Additional Scheduling: Mission requirements may require alternate schedules, weekends, holidays, and scheduled or unscheduled overtime
  

What You'll Do

As a Repair/Modification Technician – Electrical Mechanic, you will perform complex electrical modification and maintenance activities both on and off aircraft. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Perform electrical modifications to aircraft wiring and system components.
  
• Complete complex connector terminations, including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber-optic wiring.
  
• Follow proper wire handling and routing requirements.
  
• Perform sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables according to established processes.
  
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, blueprints, wire diagrams, retrofit requirements, and work instructions.
  
• Assemble, install, modify, and inspect wire bundles and electrical assemblies.
  
• Perform operational and quality checks on completed aircraft work.
  
• Troubleshoot aircraft electrical and environmental system malfunctions at the organizational or depot maintenance level.
  
• Conduct aircraft bench and flight-line operational testing and troubleshooting.
  
• Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring during assembly processes.
  
• Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to confirm dimensional and quality requirements.
  
• Follow company and government safety, quality, Tool Control, FOD, Hazardous Energy, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  
• Maintain required certifications, licenses, permits, and training requirements.
  
• Collaborate with management and peers to determine effective work processes and resolve technical challenges.
  
• Assist and train less-experienced team members and potentially lead teams through more complex aircraft-related assignments.
  
• Work alongside General Mechanics, Structures, and Avionics team members to support cost and schedule objectives.
  
• Prioritize assigned workloads to maintain project schedules while ensuring work is completed safely and accurately.
  

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• 4+ years of experience performing aircraft electrical/mechanical duties comparable to those described above.
  
• 4+ years of experience and knowledge of electrical/electronic theories and systems sufficient to perform assigned responsibilities.
  
• Ability to read and interpret detailed written and verbal work instructions, technical documentation, and aircraft processes.
  
• Ability and willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift and rotating shifts as required.
  
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  
• Ability to successfully complete the required assessment during the training cycle.
  
• Ability to obtain and maintain required training certifications.
  

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Ascend and descend vertical work ladders and occasionally climb 3- to 12-foot ladders or stands.
  
• Work in confined spaces and on elevated platforms.
  
• Lift approximately 35 pounds, with two-person lifts potentially required for weights greater than 50 pounds.
  
• Frequently reach overhead, walk, stand, and balance on ladders, steps, or uneven surfaces.
  
• Perform activities that may include sitting, crawling, squatting, bending, stooping, lying down, rotating the head and neck, and operating foot controls for extended periods.
  
• Use required personal protective equipment for the face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms.
  
• Pass required visual acuity and color perception testing.
  
• Safely handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.
  
• Work in environments with frequent noise exposure and occasional contact with metals.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing Depot Level/Modification maintenance.
  
• Experience operating a forklift, mobile crane, or riding-type electric-powered elevating equipment in support of work assignments.
